The board approved an amendment to the district’s contract with the YMCA family of Lancaster and Fairfield County that changes the district payment schedule for before- and after-school programming from monthly payments to semester-based payments.
Superintendent Mister Bellville explained the YMCA/district partnership shares staffing costs to keep program fees lower for families, and the amendment simply shifts when the district settles those payments. “When we first went into agreement with the YMCA…we’re changing that to a semester based funding model or payment schedule. Just so it’s a little bit easier on both parties,” Bellville said.
During the consent agenda, the board moved and seconded the contract amendment and approved it by voice vote. The motion passed with board members voting in the affirmative. The district indicated the change is administrative and does not alter the program’s staffing-sharing arrangement.
