Commissioners approve certificate pay policy for Fire Marshal�s Office

Van Zandt County Commissioners Court approved a certificate-pay policy for the Fire Marshals Office and authorized county staff to add the policy to the county employee handbook.

The court said the policy was discussed in a prior workshop and that the final version was included in the meeting binder. A commissioner moved to approve the policy and place it into the employee handbook; the motion was seconded and passed on voice vote.

The action formalizes pay differentials tied to certifications in the Fire Marshals Office as described in the packet and directs human-resources and payroll staff to incorporate the policy into the employee handbook and apply it according to the countys payroll schedules.
