Committee hears maintenance updates: partition walls, mold remediation and parking-lot lights completed

County maintenance staff reported Oct. 2 on several completed and planned facility tasks: a partition wall at the trustee’s office has been built, a new countertop for next year was discussed, carpet was replaced in a small library room after a roof leak, mold remediation and repairs at the Avoca Road ambulance station were completed, and parking-lot lights at the senior center were repaired.

Why it matters: Ongoing maintenance and mold remediation protect staff and public safety and maintain usable public facilities.

Staff said SERVPRO was contracted to remediate mold at the ambulance station, removed affected materials, replaced sheetrock, repainted and performed an air-quality test that returned acceptable results. The work included remediation in a bathroom, living room and a bedroom/storage area. County staff also said the senior center parking-lot lights were replaced and that staff assisted local crews with installation.

The partition wall at the trustee’s office has been completed; staff said a new L-shaped countertop is planned for next year and that drawings have been prepared. Committee members had no objections and thanked staff for completing the listed tasks.
