Mayor Case also announced the city is accepting applications for a Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council composed of nine students in grades 9–12. Applications will be accepted through Friday, Oct. 17, 2025; the council said members will be selected by a panel of city staff, the mayor and community volunteers and will meet monthly. City staff will return to council with a formal plan for the advisory body’s scope, schedule and swearing‑in.
Woodland Park Police announced a public remembrance for former Police Chief Bob Larson, who retired in 2015 after long service to the department. The police department is organizing an open memorial on Oct. 28 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the UPCC; the department said details and livestream options will be provided on its Facebook page.
Council members discussed timing considerations for meetings and said a final effective date of Nov. 6 would give staff time to notify the public; staff affirmed they would post the change and adjust work‑session scheduling as needed.
No formal council ordinance or vote was required for the scheduling change; Mayor Case stated she would adopt the change with council consensus and staff will handle public notice requirements.
