During the October 2025 Polk County Quorum Court meeting, members approved multiple budget ordinances by roll call, including appropriations and transfers affecting the tax collector, county clerk and sheriff's department.
Justice Jordan Sowers introduced an ordinance appropriating $20,099.86 from the tax collector's automation fund to the tax collector's department to help pay toward a generator; the court adopted the ordinance by roll call. Justice Jamie Jackson moved an ordinance appropriating $25,000 from the county clerk's cost fund for computers for the county clerk's office; that ordinance also passed by roll call. Justice Sparks presented a transfer ordinance to provide for the 2025 fiscal budget by transferring funds previously appropriated in the general fund for the sheriff's department (the judge indicated this was to correct a prior mistake); the court adopted that transfer ordinance as well.
Each ordinance was read in title by the clerk and was adopted on a recorded unanimous vote. The clerk and justices thanked elected officials who offered funds from their offices to cover costs, and the meeting record shows no amendments or further conditions attached to these appropriations at the time of adoption.
