A public hearing Wednesday gave residents a chance to comment on the proposed transfer of Pennsylvania liquor license R‑16428 from 7 West Main Street, Mount Pleasant, to 4869 William Penn Highway, Suite 4869, Murrysville. The applicant said the license would serve a new restaurant occupying the former Atria space.

Charlie Caputo, counsel for the applicant Primo Murray LLC, identified Mark Horovitz as “one of the owners” and described the proposed business, saying the new restaurant would be called Pizziolo Primo and would offer “an upscale, authentic Italian experience, homemade brick oven pizzas and different types of pasta dishes and salads.” Caputo said the business seeks on‑premises beer, wine and spirits so it can offer “a drink as a compliment to the meal.”

Caputo told council the company purchased the license in an arm’s‑length sale from Mount Pleasant after it did not find an available license in Murrysville, and that the municipal resolution must accompany the application to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. He summarized the expected hours based on other locations: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.–10 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m.–8 p.m.

There were no public comments at the hearing and the council closed the public hearing. The solicitor and chief administrative staff noted the transfer will be formally considered by resolution at the council meeting on Oct. 14; the state Liquor Control Board’s transfer process was described as typically taking about eight to 12 weeks after the municipality submits a favorable resolution.

The hearing was informational only; no final action on the transfer was taken at the Oct. 1 meeting.
