The Board of Public Works and Safety on Oct. 1 awarded the demolition contract for a garage at 711 South Armstrong to Underground Excavating Solutions for $9,000. Chelsea Matlock, office manager at Building and Code Services, reported three bids: Jeremy Schultz Farms LLC at $10,600; Underground Excavating Solutions at $9,000; and Steven Sawyer at $9,600. Staff recommended Underground Excavating Solutions as the lowest responsible bidder. A board member moved to award the contract to Underground Excavating Solutions; the motion was seconded and approved. The award is limited to demolition of the referenced garage structure; contract execution and scheduling were not discussed on the record.
