The Park Board on Wednesday approved the Columbus Park playground replacement project after the City’s Community Development Agency (CDA) advised funds are available to rebuild the playground removed earlier due to safety violations.

Although the CDA representative was not present, the board reviewed submitted plans and parks staff confirmed that the project has funding and will move forward through the Parks Department’s procurement process. Commissioners voted to approve the project and to allow parks staff to continue with bidding and installation steps.
