Planning staff updated the commission on several administrative and infrastructure matters. Staff reported a Sept. 29 meeting with public works, engineering and utilities to review proposed landscape‑code changes; the town’s water resource specialist (Paige) is working with staff and the language has been vetted with representatives of Pinal Partnership, Global Water and Arizona Water Company. Staff said they are evaluating whether proposed water‑resource language should be placed in chapter 150 (utilities) of town code with references to the landscape code.

On development review, staff reported that up to 13 final plats may go to the Town Council for approval in October and that the technical advisory committee continues to process plats and PUD amendments. The commission was invited to a work session on Monday, Oct. 13, to review the Attaway/Hunt Highway project in greater detail.

Regarding Hunt Highway, staff said work north of Franklin continues in partnership with Pinal County and that construction is still scheduled to start in 2026; staff noted utility relocation and related work are currently underway in parts of the corridor. Commissioners asked about possible quorum posting for the Oct. 13 work session; staff said they would post a notice if commissioners indicate they plan to attend.

Staff asked commissioners to notify the clerk if they plan to attend the work session so a potential quorum can be posted. No formal action was taken on these informational items; they were presented as director’s report and development updates.
