The board approved a routine resolution authorizing the treasurer and deputy treasurer of Jennings County Schools to pay claims without prior board approval between meetings through Oct. 23 and to transfer appropriations between education, debt service and operations funds to balance major account classifications.

A staff member described the measure as “the standard resolution when there's more than 2 weeks between meetings,” and asked the board to approve authorization for payments and transfers. A motion by Pat, seconded by Cheryl, passed with a recorded vote of seven in favor.

The resolution permits staff to process claims and make internal transfers necessary to balance accounts; no specific claims or transfers were listed during the meeting.
