The Logansport Board of Public Works and Safety on Sept. 24 approved claims totaling $1,270,942.16 and a set of routine items including an annual software contract and cemetery report.
The board approved the claims "as presented," a package that included $96,304.19 in unspecified claims, payroll of $316,614.02, police pension pay of $37,041.46, fire pension pay of $69,174.01, TIF downtown claims of $222,500, combined TIF claims of $256,550, a TIF LV construction claim of $20,000 and payroll claims for July and August of $252,758.48.
"I'll make a motion to approve the claims as presented," Mayor Chris Martin said; the board voted unanimously.
The board also approved an annual agreement with CivicPlus for the city's registration and rentals software. A city staff member described the CivicPlus contract as "an annual agreement... in our regular non reverting operating budget." That contract was approved by unanimous vote.
Other routine approvals included acceptance of the Mount Hope Cemetery monthly report, approval of an electrical license for Sean Deebold doing business as Climate Pros LLC, and consent-of-owner approval for a paver walkway from the curb to the dwelling at 215 Riverview Street (the board added that item to the agenda and then approved it). All items passed with recorded "yes" votes from Chris Martin, Levi Jones and Jacob Palmasol.
No board member requested further discussion on these items during the meeting; the approvals were handled during the consent or new-business portions of the agenda.
A full claims breakdown was read into the record at the meeting and the board voted to approve the package as read.
