On animal control, the sheriff's report listed five cats available for adoption (some in foster care) and said the department works with a veterinarian who comes twice a month to perform sterilizations. The sheriff promoted an upcoming "Paws and Pumpkins" adoption event on Oct. 11.
The sheriff also said the department was reviewing payment vendors for credit-card processing and is considering switching to the vendor used by clerks' offices across the state because of dissatisfaction with current fees.
Commissioners accepted the monthly reports and asked no further questions on the items during the meeting.
