The Honolulu City Council on Oct. 1 honored the Rush Mililani 2011 boys U-14 soccer team for winning the 2025 U.S. Club Soccer National Cup and recognized the team’s coaches, parents and volunteers.
Council Member Okimoto introduced the team and listed players and coaches present in the chamber. Okimoto said the team earned a spot at nationals by winning the U.S. Club Soccer state tournament for Hawaii and described match results in Denver, including a 3-1 semifinal win and a 4-1 victory in the championship game.
Okimoto also noted the team’s community-service activities, including support for the Special Olympics and local food deliveries, and praised the organization’s stated core values of leadership, tenacity and unity. The council’s honorary resolution congratulated the team, coaches and volunteers and wished the players success in future endeavors.
The presentation was honorary and did not involve council votes or budgetary actions.
