The La Paz County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 6 approved a reorganization to create a new project manager position to report to the board. County administration said the position is new, the job description has already been approved, and the position will be funded using existing budget savings.

Ms. McDowell (county administration) told the board the funding package included $20,000 from HR consultant savings, approximately $64,237 from vacancy savings, and $40,000 from IT budget savings; she also said a planned audit cost covered by the county was not required because the Auditor General covers that expense. The board approved the reorganization by motion without additional discussion.

The county did not present a hiring timeline or immediate assignment list for the new project manager at the Oct. 6 meeting; departments cited savings in current-year budgets as the source of funding.
