City staff told council they met with consultant Horrocks about issues at the Discovery pickleball courts and received a formal acknowledgment that the contractor’s warranty would be extended. Staff said they met with Horrocks and that Horrocks has returned proposed technical solutions to the supplier/solutions group; staff are reviewing the options internally. “We had a meeting with them, and we’ve sent it back to their solutions people. They sent us an email yesterday with some potential solutions. We just haven't had a chance yet internally to discuss what that looks like,” a staff member said. Parks and other staff also noted that a formal acknowledgment was received that the warranty would be extended; the warranty had expired on Oct. 1. City staff did not provide final technical details during the meeting and said further analysis and internal discussion are needed before any final remedy is chosen. No formal council action was taken during the update. The council asked staff to continue pursuing a resolution and to return with recommendations once Horrocks’ solutions have been reviewed.
