Commissioners approve $1,009,454.31 pay request for Silk Road project

County commissioners approved the first major pay request for the Silk Road project, authorizing payment of $1,009,454.31 to contractor Aztec and directing staff to forward the signed pay request for processing.

The payment represents the majority of the project cost to date; staff said the submission covers the first payment and that a final pay request will be presented next month after the county receives payment-marking documentation and final completion data.

A commissioner moved to approve the pay request and another seconded; the board voted in favor. Staff said they would provide Jana (county fiscal staff) a copy of the signed pay request so the county can issue payment to Aztec.

No changes to the project scope or contract terms were introduced in the meeting; staff indicated the final payment would be processed after the outstanding documentation arrives.
