County declines to become BLM cooperating agency but asks to stay on mailing list

The BLM had offered the option for local governments to be formal cooperators on planning efforts. County staff and commissioners discussed whether any BLM lands or activities directly affected the county; commissioners concluded the county has limited or no land under BLM administration within county boundaries and that it made sense to avoid formal cooperating status while keeping an information channel open.
The board voted to check the option that says the county did not desire to be a cooperator but requested to receive public‑meeting notifications and draft documents for review. Staff recorded the decision and asked the BLM to add the county’s contact information to the project mailing list.
