The City Council on Oct. 7 accepted the completion of emergency repairs to the City Hall council chambers and formally terminated the emergency contracting actions under Public Contract Code section 22050(c)(3).

City staff reported the work was completed during a recent break and said the upgrades included new microphones, new speakers and changes to back‑room equipment to eliminate feedback. Staff said the sound system improvements are functioning and that contractors pulled required permits and addressed technical issues.

The council voted 5‑0 to accept the project completion and terminate the emergency contracting authority for this work. Staff said the chambers are now fully functional and that no additional council action is required beyond the acceptance and closure of the emergency contract.
