At the beginning of the Oct. 7 meeting the Zoning Committee considered its claims and authorized payment of the bills on the list except for two court-reporter/stenographer claims to Holly Matthews and Jamie S. Atkinson, which the committee removed from approval pending further review.
The committee said the amounts and the payee addressing raised questions that merit investigation and possible referral to the county's policy/procedure review. The chair asked that staff follow up and, if necessary, pass the items to the county's policy and procedure committee for further action. A motion to approve the remaining claims, excluding the two court-reporter payments, was made, seconded and carried on a roll-call vote with Ferguson, Hughes, Broad, Litlow and Diver recorded as voting yes.
Committee members asked staff to gather more information about the two removed claims and to report back at a future meeting.
