The Beach Park Village Board set the village’s trick‑or‑treat hours at 5 p.m. on the scheduled October date after a motion from Trustee Gust; the motion passed by voice vote.
Mayor (or presiding officer) reported a recent meeting with Waukegan Park Board President George Bridges Jr. about traffic, noise and other concerns at the sports park on Beach Road. The mayor described the conversation as “frank and open,” said it was the beginning of a dialogue and that Beach Park is willing to consider ideas from the park board to improve the situation. He said both sides were encouraged by the meeting and that further conversations are expected.
In planning and zoning, a staff update noted interior drywall work was complete at the forthcoming restaurant site, with parking reconfigured and landscaping outstanding; staff said the owners expect to finish remaining exterior landscaping and finalize a more definite opening date at the next meeting.
Trustees also highlighted autumn community programming in the region: Illinois Beach State Park nature walks and Six Flags Great America seasonal operations were mentioned as opportunities for residents.
The board’s motions on trick‑or‑treat hours and acknowledgment of the parks dialogue and restaurant construction were procedural or informational; trustees asked staff to continue coordination with neighboring agencies and to provide a construction/update timeline at the next meeting.
