City staff reported that the new tennis courts opened on schedule for the high school season and that schools and visiting teams have praised the facility.

"We've heard nothing but positive things," said Parks staff, who thanked Robert and others for coordinating on parking and operations with the schools. Staff said they plan to expand programming from youth lessons to senior offerings at the courts.

The Erie County Board of Developmental Disabilities received grant funding earlier this year to purchase Mobi Mats, portable access mats staff said will be used at beaches and to assist access at the tennis courts. Staff described the mats as a tool to improve accessibility while site work and permanent concrete access are completed.

Staff also announced the city's twice-yearly resident drop-off day will be Saturday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Shelby Street Boat Launch overflow lot. The event is limited to city residents who must show proof of residency; partners include Sandusky Steel, Ohio Tire, Rumpke, Home Depot and Firelands Local. Staff warned there is a hard cut-off at 11 a.m. for vehicles in line.

No motions were recorded on these items. Staff said they will continue to evaluate parking arrangements and maintenance needs at parks and facilities.
