City administrators told the council the new city hall project is moving forward and that staff expect to submit outstanding application materials soon.

Staff said they are working through design details from electrical to door locks and are preparing a steel package for bidding; city staff estimated steel fabrication and delivery could occur in April or May, depending on package size and shop lead times. Project managers told the council there could be intermittent pauses in on‑site activity while steel is fabricated, but overall the schedule anticipates the building will be enclosed by the following fall with a target move‑in date of July 2027.

City staff said if foundational work such as footings can proceed this fall it could accelerate portions of the schedule. They noted the team is finalizing a plat required for other parts of the project and has had several coordination meetings with builders and consultants.

No formal council action was required; staff asked the council to note progress and to expect additional permitting and procurement steps in the coming months.
