Patty told the Arts Commission the RAP application window opened Oct. 1 and that applications are due Dec. 26, the last Friday in December. The commission will review submissions at its Jan. 14, 2026 meeting and Michelle will present recommendations to Ivins City Council at the Jan. 15 meeting.
The timing matters because the city recently changed its fiscal year. Patty warned applicants that the application will be labeled fiscal year 2025, which could confuse previous applicants or grant writers used to calendar-year labels.
Patty said the total amount available for RAP grants this cycle is about $22,000, roughly half of past allocations. She explained that for the first year under the fiscal change the fund represents about eight months of RAP revenue rather than 12 months, and that outgoing commitments — including additional allocations to the Arts Commission and to KAF — draw down the available pool. “The amount that is available to grant is only $22,000 which is roughly half or a little less than half of what we’ve had in the past,” Patty said.
Commission members asked questions about outreach, and Patty said she had posted the application on Nextdoor and emailed local groups; she will resend information to organizations that reported not receiving it. She encouraged applicants to note the fiscal-year label and to check with the city or their grant writers if they have questions.
The commission did not vote to change policy at the meeting; members were updating schedules and outreach plans for the upcoming application period.
