Separately, Miss Graff presented the district wellness committee report. She said 26 members attended the committee's Sept. 24 meeting; school wellness teams at Lincoln and Grover Cleveland convened; a staff step challenge launched with more than 200 participants for six weeks; and October is Farm to School Month. Graff also noted several school events supported by the United Way, including rejuvenation projects at Piper Burley, family events at Edison and Deal, outdoor field experiences for Wilson students, and an Erie High student activities fair that drew more than 200 student sign‑ups.
Those reports were informational; the board took no formal action on the Talent Search cancellation at the meeting, and the IU's decision not to pursue litigation was presented as the IU's choice.
Board members asked for additional detail about related adult‑education statistics and the geographic breakdown of participants; a board member requested the district help determine how many adult‑education enrollees are local to the city.
