The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 17 voted unanimously to approve an order transferring multiple tax‑foreclosed parcels to the City of Yachats by quitclaim deed.
County surveyor Eli Adam summarized maps and a list submitted in the commissioners’ packet, saying the parcels “came from tax foreclosure and accumulated over several decades” and that “most of these are road or road related and are within the city of Yachats and relate more to city purposes.” County counsel Kristen Yule told the board the transfer is authorized under statute referenced in the staff report (02/1330) and said the county had published the required notice; she added the affidavit of publication to the record.
The hearing was opened and closed without public testimony. After brief confirmation from staff that the materials addressed potential questions, a motion to approve the order was made and seconded; the board voted aye and the motion “passes unanimously.” The board did not record additional conditions or amendments during the meeting.
The packet materials presented to the board included a list of affected parcels and maps showing the locations and the county surveyor’s notes that the parcels are predominantly connected to roads or road purposes within Yachats. No dollar amounts, easement conditions or reserved rights were presented at the hearing, and staff did not identify any remaining objections or outstanding third‑party claims during the meeting.
Because the board recorded the affidavit of publication as part of the record, the county clerk’s office will retain that documentation alongside the order authorizing the quitclaim transfers. The county did not announce an implementation timeline at the meeting.
Copies of the staff list and maps were placed in the commissioners’ packet and are available through the county’s property management or clerk’s office for review.
