Council approves $2.66 million in claims and roughly $2.1 million in payroll; motor-fuel claims also approved

Belleville aldermen on Oct. 6 approved claims and disbursements totaling $2,659,506.08 and two payroll runs: $1,040,489.18 (Sept. 19) and $1,061,539 (Oct. 3). The council later approved motor-fuel claims in the amount of $197,929.59.

Mayor Shelley read the claims and payroll totals into the record and called for a motion; aldermen approved the items by roll call. The approvals were routine business during the Oct. 6 meeting.

No council member requested itemized line-by-line explanations during the meeting. City staff customarily maintain detailed claims documentation and payroll records; those records are available through the city clerk if citizens request itemized reports under applicable public-records rules.

Approvals were recorded by roll call and the motions carried.
