The presenter estimated the full project would cost about $150,000 and asked the board to approve moving forward with Gasaway for design.
A board member moved to approve design; Janice seconded the motion. The board approved the motion by roll call with no recorded no votes. The clerk announced, "Motion carries."
Why this matters: the canopy is intended to shelter students during loading and unloading and to match a prior bus-area canopy. District staff said they would only proceed with further spending if design and later cost estimates remain within the allocated budget.
The board action approved design work only; no construction contract was awarded during the meeting.
