Superintendent reports website rollout, cafeteria refresh and playground upgrades

The superintendent credited staff—naming Mr. Hastings, Dr. Morgan, Erin Leahy and network manager Dan Gastel—for summer work on the site and said the site remains "under construction" while final refinements are completed. She said the district will publicize the new features and urged board members and families to review the site once it launches.
Weldon also said Ocean Township High School’s cafeteria received cosmetic upgrades over the summer, including a fresh coat of paint and spirited decals; the work was completed in phases and the new decor was in place for homecoming. She thanked facilities staff and principals and said additional phase‑two improvements are planned across the district.
Weldon announced that Arts NJ selected student artwork from Ocean Township High School for display at the New Jersey School Boards Association conference in Atlantic City later this month; district art teachers will select about 16–18 printed pieces plus several digital works for exhibition.
School business administrator Hastings added that the district invested in new cafeteria equipment at the high school and is evaluating upgrades at other buildings. He said expanded preschool playgrounds at Wanamassa and Wayside are installed (fencing at Wanamassa pending) and that the district is testing upgrades to transportation fueling equipment as it plans capital projects and begins early work on the 2027 budget.
No formal board action was required for the informational reports; board members thanked staff for the work and asked administration to publicize key dates for upcoming October events and for the website launch.
