On Oct. 8, 2025, the Butte-Silver Bow Council of Commissioners held in abeyance four requests from private parties to purchase county-owned parcels, saying the items will await a recommendation from the Land Sales Committee meeting scheduled for Oct. 14.
The communications included requests from Patty and Chris Solomonson for land adjacent to 17 Telamore Street; Marlo and Nicole Carrolls for a parcel at the southeast corner of Maryland Avenue and Second to expand yard space for a property at 1006 Maryland Avenue; Thomas Knicki as personal representative for the estate of William LaHood seeking purchase of Lot 16 through 17 for $1,000; and Steve Maloney seeking to purchase part of tax parcel 0001892400 pending a survey and corrective deed.
The items were read into the record by the chair and each was explicitly continued "in abeyance pending a recommendation from the Land Sales Committee," the commission said. No votes were taken on the sale requests during the Oct. 8 meeting.
The decisions to defer leave final disposition subject to the Land Sales Committee’s review and any subsequent reporting back to the full commission. The transcript shows no additional debate, public testimony, or motions related to the parcels at the Oct. 8 meeting.
The items will return to the commission only after the Land Sales Committee issues a recommendation, according to the commission’s action to defer.
