City Council on Oct. 6 approved a one-year pilot to use Dynamic Graphics as a portal for the city's uniform voucher program, adopting Resolution 25-098.

"This is an effort to have a pilot program to kinda modernize and make it more administratively efficient, through online ordering portal for those city employees that receive a uniform voucher," Council member Jenkins said when presenting the finance committee recommendation. The committee recommended approval of the one-year pilot.

Councilwoman Beth Kearns asked whether the vendor is located inside city limits and whether local businesses had been considered. City Manager Michelle (first name given in the transcript) responded that Dynamic Graphics is located in South Charleston and that the city had tried to locate vendors within Charleston. Michelle said a variety of local retailers had been contacted but some went out of business and some could not produce required city logos; the chosen vendor provides an online portal and works with other local government entities. Kearns noted two West Side businesses that do customization and urged exploring in-city options next year.

Council adopted Resolution 25-098 by voice vote. The action is described as a one-year pilot; staff indicated they will review the program and return with options next year if needed.
