Council approves $365,530 contract to rehabilitate storm sewer pipes at about 45 locations

City Council adopted Resolution 25-097 on Oct. 6 to contract Insight Pike Contracting LLC for pipe rehabilitation work at multiple storm sewer locations across Charleston.

"This is a large project throughout the city at approximately 45 locations," Council member Jenkins told the council when reporting the finance committee recommendation. The committee recommended the contract after competitive bidding.

The contract price was listed in the committee report as $365,530. Council approved the measure by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded on the council floor during the adoption announcement.

City staff described the work as rehabilitation of existing storm sewer pipes at various locations; the resolution text lists the contract as competitively procured. Council did not add conditions or set a timeline during the floor discussion, and staff will oversee contracting and work scheduling through Public Works operations.
