Williams told commissioners that the number of doses allocated is tied to county population and overdose incidence and that requests are typically filled in batches. She said that while overdose events are still occurring, overdose deaths in the county have trended down in recent years.
Commissioners moved and seconded approval of the agreement; recorded votes show the motion carried.
County staff emphasized that the program combines both distribution of naloxone and training on overdose recognition and naloxone use. No specific dollar amount was discussed in the meeting record; the award was presented as a supply of naloxone kits rather than a cash grant.
