Committee holds proposed budget ordinance another month to continue public engagement

The Budget Administration Committee voted to retain bill 60‑25 in committee for another month while staff and sponsors continue outreach with the public and stakeholders on the proposed ordinance.

Committee Chair Tanner said the petitioners and cosponsors requested the additional time to "engage with the public and stakeholders on the nuances of the proposed ordinance." He moved to hold the bill in committee for another month; the motion was seconded and carried. "The bill number 60 dash 25 is held in committee for another month," Tanner said.

County staff confirmed the general fund is balanced and that no significant budget surprises had emerged since the last meeting. The committee did not set a firm date beyond the one‑month hold; the matter will remain before the Budget Administration Committee for further discussion and public engagement.
