Health department seeks codebook fee increases; committee recommends favorably

Amy Rupi, director of finance for the St. Joseph County Department of Health, presented proposed changes to the department's fee schedule and related codebook adjustments and asked the committee to forward the proposal with a favorable recommendation.

Rupi said the department reviewed fees last charged more than five years ago and proposed increases or new fees for department-wide and unit-specific services. "We were went back and looked at the last time they were increased. Most of them have been 5 plus years for those. That's why we chose those as the ones to, have an increase in them," Rupi said. She said committee members received a color-coded packet showing current and proposed fees.

Committee members asked no substantive follow-up questions in the meeting record; a motion and second carried the favorable recommendation to the full council. Rupi did not provide a specific timeline for implementation in the committee discussion, nor did the committee record any amendments to the proposal during the hearing; final adoption will await full council action.
