The Galveston Zoning Board of Adjustment on Oct. 8 elected Lydia Culkaba as chair and Carol Howell as vice chair and welcomed newly appointed member Nick Langford.

The board opened nominations; a member nominated Lydia Culkaba for chair, the nomination was moved and seconded, and the board approved the election. Members then nominated and approved Carol Howell as vice chair.

The board also acknowledged Nick Langford as a new member. At the end of the meeting staff announced Donna Fairweather's recent appointment as interim city attorney.

These internal elections will guide chairing and agenda management for upcoming hearings; no other formal policy actions were taken as part of the elections.
