The group noted that the president’s vacancy was a formal matter requiring a vote; the acceptance of the resignation and the subsequent officer elections were recorded as voice votes during the meeting. The commission’s discussion established that the interim president will serve through the commission’s reorganization on Jan. 1.
Members thanked Nipp for his service and welcomed Mitchell into the presidency. Following the elections, the commission continued with its agenda, including setting up a hiring process for the director position and scheduling an executive session related to HR matters.
