The Troy City Council adopted Resolution R44-2025 authorizing the city to consent to Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) safety improvements at the Interstate 75 and State Route 41 interchange and to construct pedestrian facilities on State Route 41 within the city limits.
Mr. Phillips, chair of the Streets and Sidewalks Committee, said the project will be bid by ODOT this year and estimated the total project cost at about $4,000,000. The city's share was presented in committee as $67,261 but the resolution read at council referenced the city payment amount as $60,261; council adopted the resolution and declared an emergency.
Mr. Phillips said the committee supports preparing legislation to approve the final consent for the ODOT project and the city's payment of the currently estimated share. The resolution was moved and the council voted to suspend the rules and adopt it; the roll call recorded affirmative votes from members present.
Council members noted that the city's stated share could be adjusted once final bids are received, and that the city would pay its portion based on the final contract. The Streets and Sidewalks Committee listed Mr. Schilling, Mrs. Westfall and Mr. Phillips as sponsors of the committee recommendation.
The resolution allows ODOT to proceed with bidding and establishes the city's participation; the exact city contribution will be finalized when ODOT awards the contract and computes the final shares.
