District Administrator Rick Conrad told the Muncie City Board of Sanitary Commissioners on Sept. 3 that the Bureau of Water Quality’s mussel propagation project recently received recognition in Indiana Outdoor Magazine and by the Ball Brothers Foundation.
Conrad described the project as part of the bureau’s water quality work and invited interested parties to arrange classroom visits or public tours to see the work in person. He called the project “pretty pretty exciting and, novel stuff” during his report.
Board members offered congratulations during the meeting; no formal action was required or taken on the recognition.
Staff said they would not expand further at the meeting but provided the bureau as the contact point for anyone seeking a visit or more information.
