District staff told the board that enrollment has increased and that Parent Teacher Clubs across the district raised significant funds last year.
The enrollment report said the district is at 4,307 students as of last week, up 90 from the last day of school the prior year and up 16 from the first day of this school year. Staff reported 267 TK students (up 59 from last year) and 384 kindergarten students (down 16 from last year). "We continue to go up. We're at 4,307 as of last week, which is, good growth," the presenter said.
The board also received a district summary of Parent Teacher Club (PTC) finances. A district presenter said PTCs across the five schools spent more than $700,000 last year and collectively raised about $855,000; PTCs project to spend nearly $800,000 in the coming year. To strengthen financial controls, the district said it updated cash‑handling procedures, introduced a cash count form to be submitted to the district office for every event, and will require a CPA audit of PTC books instead of an informal outside review.
Why it matters: enrollment drives staffing, class size and facilities planning; PTC fundraising supports site programs and district initiatives but the board asked staff to continue improving oversight through updated cash‑handling procedures and audits.
Board members commended PTC volunteers and staff for the fundraising and said the district will continue to collaborate with school leaders to align PTC efforts with district priorities. No formal board action was required beyond the informational report.
