Public works staff asked the council to approve a task order of $61,900 to engage Mark Russo Associates for construction engineering and inspection (CEI) services on the Wellington Tennis Center expansion.

Staff said the village’s engineering team could not absorb all on-site CEI requirements for electrical installations and certain vault work during construction. The contracted CEI firm would attend the site three times a week, participate in weekly contractor meetings and provide final certifications that installation met contract specifications.

Why it matters: CEI services provide construction oversight and a certified record that work was completed per contract; staff said the funding is already allocated in the project’s capital budget and that the task order would not delay the project.
