TCEQ prepares reporting, financial-assurance rules for recycling of renewable-energy components

Charlie Fritz, deputy director of the waste permits division at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), told the Municipal Solid Waste Regional Advisory Council on Sept. 26 that the agency is implementing two bills related to recycling and renewable-energy materials.
"The 2 main ones are going to be HB 3 2 2 9, which is focused on recycling facilities that handle renewable energy components," Fritz said. "So solar panels, battery energy storage system components from battery storage systems, and then wind farms, wind turbines, and generators and all that."
