Assistant Superintendent Amy Anzalone introduced Michael Solito as Coventry Public Schools’ new staff accountant and told the School Committee he joined the district about three weeks ago after three years as a junior accountant at Navigant Credit Union.

Anzalone said Solito handled accounts payable, daily transactions and journal entries at the credit union and is "making the adjustment and certainly enjoying working with the finance department." Solito told the committee he is "definitely looking forward to working with you all."

A committee member asked whether Solito had grant-writing experience. Solito said he did not have prior grant-writing experience but expected to work closely with the grants process and was willing to take on that responsibility.

Members welcomed Solito and noted the district has been addressing past staffing challenges in its finance department. No formal vote was recorded; the introduction was informational and preceded the committee’s recess into executive session.
