The Saint Louis Board of Aldermen on Friday sent Resolution 118 to the Personnel and Administration Committee for further consideration. The resolution, introduced on the floor by Alderman Aldrick and President Green, states the board "commits to negotiating in good faith to swiftly reach an agreement with UAW and legislative staffs organizing committee that recognizes the essential work of the Board of Aldermen's legislative staff."

The Alderman from the Fourteenth Ward asked that the resolution be sent to the Personnel and Administration Committee; the motion was seconded and a roll call recorded 13 aye votes to sustain the motion. The clerk recorded that the motion to send Resolution 118 to committee was sustained.

No final agreement or bargaining outcome was adopted in open session; the board's action was a referral to committee to allow further discussion and possible committee action.

The Personnel and Administration Committee will consider the resolution at a future meeting; the referral does not itself change workplace rules or compensation and does not bind negotiators beyond the committee and board processes.
