County committee advances $1.84 million masonry restoration contract for multiple county sites

County staff described the scope of work as including removal and replacement of portions of the Circuit Court plaza deck and associated handicap ramps, new trench drains, guardrails, granite wall/base replacement, replacement of granite panels on a garage elevation, masonry repairs and tuckpointing at the Vic Wertz warehouse and repairs and tuckpointing and signage work at the 42nd District Court in New Baltimore. Staff noted prior work already completed on the north side of the court plaza and said the contract will complete the south side and other failing elements.
Commissioners raised no substantive questions; the item was moved and seconded to the full board and the committee recorded a unanimous committee vote to advance the contract.
