The Minnetonka School Board on Oct. 9 accepted low bids for six planned 2026 summer projects, including fencing, cabinet replacements and multiple paving projects. Finance staff said the low bids came in substantially under the project estimates.
The board approved the low bidders by motion and voice vote for each item. Paul Bourgeois, the district’s executive director of finance and operations, read the bid results and asked the board to accept the low bids.
Accepted low bids and amounts announced at the meeting were:
- Warehouse and district service center fencing — Erickson Builders and Company, $105,440 (project budget $150,000).
- Scenic Heights Elementary cabinet replacement (completing replacement of original 1967 cabinets) — Linde Construction Services LLC, $332,000 (project budget $500,000).
- Groveland Elementary cabinet replacement and hallway tile resurfacing — Action Construction Services, $277,548 (project budget $650,000).
- Minnetonka High School northwest parking‑lot repave — Minnesota Paving Materials, $238,700 (budget estimate noted in materials).
- Clear Springs Elementary repaving (front areas and construction‑impacted surfaces) — Valley Paving, $145,468 (project budget $300,000).
- Excelsior Elementary backside repaving, including former Lime & Lumber parcel and the George Street student drop‑off driveway — FPI Paving Contractors Inc., $120,853 (project budget $245,000).
Bourgeois told the board the projects were part of a rolling plan to keep district facilities in a state of good repair. Board members and attendees noted the cumulative savings. “I was just gonna say, Chris and I were both doing some quick mathing over here, and we came up with the same savings, but, like, it's coming in about $1,100,000 under budget when you add up all of those different things,” said board member Megan, thanking staff for getting competitive bids.
Each bid was approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition. Staff said the approvals place the contracts on the books so work can proceed next summer.
