Parks Commission approves school overflow parking requests and adds Friday boot-camp class

The Lakeville Parks Commission on Oct. 9 approved two facility requests: Assawantah Elementary School’s request to use the Ted Williams Camp parking lot for overflow parking on Dec. 10, Apr. 8 and May 20 (all 9:30–11:30 a.m.), and a request from instructor Courtney Beadling to add a Friday evening boot-camp class at Ted Williams Camp (5–6:30 p.m.).

Commissioners noted a typographical error in the school’s application listing May 20, 2025, and confirmed the intended year is 2026. They approved the school use with a motion and second and recorded a voice vote in favor. For the fitness class, commissioners moved and seconded approval for an added Friday evening; the motion passed by voice vote. Commissioners said they appreciate advance notice for events that increase parking demand.

No fees or special permits were recorded for either approval in the meeting minutes. Commissioners requested the school and instructor provide any necessary signage or notifications about temporary parking changes or program times.
