The Sawyer County Health & Human Services board voted Oct. 7 to approve an amended fee schedule that included changes to OWI assessment and driver‑safety fees and added a fee line for adoption home studies.
Julia, Health & Human Services administration, explained the proposed updates, saying the OWI assessment fee would change "from $2.50 to 300" (as presented in the meeting transcript) and that the driver safety plan fee would change from $50 to $75. She also said staff added wording to reflect home‑study adoption assessments on the schedule; the agency had not provided those services since 2023 when staff capacity was reduced.
A motion to approve the amended fee schedule was made and seconded, and the board approved the amendment by voice vote. The amended fee schedule will be forwarded to the county board as required.
Julia said some other fee changes tied to state program updates (such as lodging or food assistance wording) may come later, and the department will coordinate any state‑required changes with the county board.
