Beth Galak Kearney, president of the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce, told council the reimbursement request covered quarter activities that included RabbitFest (with roughly half of attendees from out of town), upgrades to the visitor center and community-calendar technology, and downtown relocation of the visitor office. Kearney said the visitor center has seen increased foot traffic since moving downtown and that the Chamber is coordinating with the EDC and police department on upcoming events and grant applications for downtown beautification.
Councilmember Sean Alzona moved to appropriate the eligible payment amount not to exceed $26,124.01 and authorize the payment to the Chamber; John Hale seconded. The motion carried on a voice vote.
