Ocean Shores radio to promote Oct. 18 suicide-prevention class at Lions Club

"There is a class that is going to be held at the Lions Club," Gina said, and she asked the station to promote it and to consider a follow-up interview with the counselor to explain resources and prevention techniques. She said the class will be open to the high school and local churches and emphasized that "sometimes just asking a simple question of how you doing and really listening makes a difference."
Trey, speaking for the station, offered to run a public-service announcement if Gina could send copy or the key details. "If you would share with me via email that information, then I will write it up, but we'll make sure that we get it on our read," Trey said. Gina said she planned to confirm the start time but stated the date as Oct. 18.
The board did not take a formal vote; the action recorded in the meeting was a pledge by station volunteers to assist with promotion if provided with the event copy and scheduling details.
