The group discussed that earlier plans and consultant work (by Logan Simpson) included site-level concepts; however, specific interior scopes and cost estimates for the baggage building had not been finalized. One commissioner recalled an interior scope-of-work estimate in the tens of thousands (an $80,000 figure was referenced anecdotally) and said the commission should confirm whether that scope and costs are in the consultant documents.
Because several projects are potential recipients of the commission's grant-match pool, staff said the commission retains flexibility to allocate funds (for example, toward the Robert's House or baggage building) once project timelines and grant opportunities clarify. Commissioners noted a preference to prioritize Robert's House if opportunities align.
No final decisions were made; members asked staff to follow up with the planning and parks teams to clarify consultant deliverables, confirm where interior-scope cost estimates reside, and monitor the land-acquisition schedule that will unlock construction funding.
